NELG Monthly Meeting

  • March 16, 2024
  • 11:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Joshua Hyde Public Library, Sturbridge

Registration

  • Attendance at monthly meetings is free to members. Newcomers and guests are always welcome!

Registration is closed

The library opens at 10:30 a.m., so please come early to visit with your lace making friends. Please register for this event so we know how many to expect.

After the program, please stay and make lace together. This is an opportunity to share our work in progress and to get help from others. Those who are new(er) to lacemaking and need some coaching or advice will be able to sit with a more experienced lace maker for assistance. Please note, this is not intended to be formal teaching, but a way to help less experienced lacemakers.

Program: Making scissor fobs - small decorative items to attach to your scissors, partly as adornment, and partly to make them a bit easier to find.

Materials to bring (some materials will be available at the meeting as well):

  • Scissors to decorate
  • Scissors for cutting fabric and thread
  • Embroidery floss or 2 yards amount of fairly fine yarn
  • Two 4” squares of fabric
  • Small decorative items - piece of lace, beads, charms, etc.
  • Sewing needle and coordinating thread
  • Embroidery needle and threads if you wish to embroider your fob
  • Pins
  • Small amount of batting or stuffing, or a bit of felt
