Red roller pillow from retreat silent auction

March 26, 2025 7:48 AM | Caroline Morse

I was fortunate to win the red roller pillow at the silent auction. I'm trying to find out if anyone knows the provenance of this pillow.  It has an engraved tag in the well of the roller that says "Miriam No. 6 Lacemaker." I have tried searching online and cannot find any mention in my searches of such a pillow.  I can supply photos if helpful.

Do you have any more info now that you have contacted the maker?

I think it would make a great article for the newsletter!

I do! Although the maker remains unknown, the pillow was sold by Alison Addicks who owned a shop in Edmonds, WA called The Lacemaker. The pillows were individially numbered; this one was No. 6, and I was contacted by someone who has No. 14. The shop closed in 1996. Alison has a presence on Etsy but the shop has apparently been dormant since 2015.
