This is such sad news. Her contributions to the lace world have been so significant. She will be sorely missed.

I was one of those privileged to have taken classes with Susie. She knew so much and shared so much. The very best kind of teacher. Opinionated, but with a great sense of humor...and usually barefoot. I can't believe she's gone....

I too am greatly saddened on news of the sudden death of Susie Johnson. She was such a delightful person, and so fun! I took a couple of classes with her. She was very determined that everyone should use incandescent high wattage light for lace, although her explanation as to why was a bit creative, and I chose not to enlighten her on the topic. She also felt that the needle pin was the only way to draw a thread though a hole, and was insistent about it. I will miss her. It is so sad I cannot take another class with her, but the memories of those classes I did take will stay with me.
