Haute-Loire has been a center for bobbin lacemaking since the 17th century. Building on this history, Puy lace has been reinventing itself for 50 years to adapt to changes in today’s society.
Many institutions in the department are involved on a daily basis in the creation and promotion of this art form, which is so deeply rooted in the region. Lacemaking clubs, creative workshops, training centers, museums, and businesses are all committed to promoting bobbin lace.
The year 2026 will be an opportunity to celebrate anniversaries marking the revival of Haute-Loire lace and to offer events and exhibitions that reflect this dynamism. During the lecture the leaders of these institutions will discuss their organizations and current projects.
OIDFA members will receive an email to register for the Zoom presentation.
