NELG Monthly Meeting

  • March 17, 2018
  • 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Joshua Hyde Public Library, Sturbridge, MA

Registration

  • Attendance at monthly meetings is free to members. Newcomers and guests are always welcome!

Registration is closed
The library opens at 10:30 a.m., so please come early to visit with your lace making friends.   There will be a formal business meeting this month, so please register for this event so that we know you are planning to attend.

Don't forget we have a "Show and Tell" table at each monthly meeting that takes place in Sturbridge.  Members are encouraged to bring a fiber-related project that they have recently finished to show to the group, and to declare some bragging rights!

Program: Tatting without English

Presented by NELG member Sharon Sacco. There are many styles of tatting patterns. We are mostly familiar with those published in English. However, there are many patterns in other languages that are beautifully tempting. How do you approach these patterns? Sharon will explore her approaches to non-English tatting patterns along with examples of bilingual, Italian, Japanese and Korean patterns. A simple pattern will be provided to illustrate the approach. Even beginners will be welcome to try. The project will need a single shuttle and thread.
