NELG Monthly Meeting

  • November 21, 2015
  • 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Joshua Hyde Public Library, Sturbridge, MA

Registration

  • Attendance at monthly meetings is free to members. Newcomers and guests are always welcome!

Registration is closed
The library opens at 10:30 a.m., so please come early to visit with your lace making friends.   There will be a formal business meeting this month, so please register for this event so that we know you are planning to attend.

Don't forget we have a "Show and Tell" table at each monthly meeting that takes place in Sturbridge.  Members are encouraged to bring a fiber-related project that they have recently finished to show to the group, and to declare some bragging rights!

Program

Snowflakes in lace. Get ready for the holiday season (this year's or next) with NELG member Bryce Wolf as she shows us how to create small lace snowflakes with metallic or blending filament.

Participants need only bring 5 pairs of sturdy bobbins (Danish, Belgian, Spanish or similar — special wire bobbins are not needed), along with a cookie or flat pillow 18” or greater and pins.  The wire, prickings and other needed materials will be supplied.  It would be helpful if people registered for the program so that we will know how many prickings to prepare, but it’s not essential.

This is not a "fundamentals in wire lace" program, but rather an opportunity for experimentation! Bryce will have on hand several shades of icy-colored, very pretty wire!
