  • Joshua Hyde Public Library, Sturbridge, MA

  • Attendance at monthly meetings is free to members. Newcomers and guests are always welcome!

Registration is closed

The library opens at 10:30 a.m., so please come early to visit with your lace making friends.   There will be a formal business meeting this month, so please register for this event so that we know you are planning to attend.

Don't forget we have a "Show and Tell" table at each monthly meeting that takes place in Sturbridge.  Members are encouraged to bring a fiber-related project that they have recently finished to show to the group, and to declare some bragging rights!

Program - The last snowflake

In this month's program we will make a small motif in Romanian Point Lace entitled “The Last Snowflake” for the incredible winter we have endured.   The program will also emphasize the process of design.

The pattern and preliminary instructions are now available.  This motif will use about a yard of the cord.  Crochet cotton, sizes 10 to 30, is recommended.  If you haven’t made the cord before, size 10 is a good size to start with since it is easier to use.  The preliminary model used size 20.  The crochet hook should be as small as possible yet still grab the thread.  For size 20 a size 10 steel hook was used.
