A friend of mine spotted this gem in a longer film. I tried to get the code to start at the lacemakers part, but if you don't jump to that point it is about 9-10 minutes in the video.

Nice to see a story about all the different artistic opportunities and organizations around lace-making, told through this woman's experiences.

I am sad to announce that our webmistress, Jill Hawkins, lost her husband the night before last.  While I do not know her plans, this blog is a way for members to express their sympathies.  While I know there is nothing I can personally do to make this go away, the best I can do is to express my sympathies as a means of comfort.  So on that I hope that she keeps all the good memories of her husband.

Jeremy Nicholas interviewed Louise West about her bobbin collection.  The short video is fun to watch.  See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59x3Fdmh_rY

Lovely item about an artisan of mundillo. What style is that like?

"At 95 years old, and with a long career in the Puerto Rican arts, particularly in mundillo, Mrs. Nellie is worthy of this important award and distinction. We thank you and congratulate you for promoting this beautiful art that represents our history, culture and tradition," said Gov. Pedro Pierluisi.

Not sure if a youtube will embed here, but here's the link to evidence of the reach of TikTok for lace.

But there was also talk at a recent monthly meeting about someone's nice Youtube channel: who was that, does anyone recall? I'd like to add it to the newsletter.

    preview150pieceThreads

I was looking through some old photos today for something else, and I decided to turn this photo from my first retreat in 2019 into a puzzle. If anyone likes puzzles, they can do it on the website in larger form.

It is a thread bin from the Van Sciver display room.
