program for hand weavers

October 19, 2011 5:24 PM | Devon Thein

On Friday, I attended a quilt event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The person conducting the program and I began to discuss lace. She is a member of the Handweavers Guild of Connecticut. She thinks that a lacemaking workshop or program would be or interest to the group. Is there anyone on the list who would like to pursue this? Her name is Rebecca Arkenberg. Her email is  RJNA@aol.com  .

We have several members of NELG who are active in the CT Handweavers Guild and I believe that at least one of them has previously offered a one-day lace workshop for the weavers. I have brought your post to their attention and asked them to follow up with Rebecca, as well as with Carolyn our VP/Program Director and Patty our President.

    Thanks for letting us know.

Clare Settle gave a mini workshop some years ago using toilet paper rolls as pillows, can't remember what they used as bobbins. It was well attended.
