Anny Noben-Slegers

28 Dec 2017 10:59 AM | Jill Hawkins

Some of you may know Anny Noben-Slegers and may have attended a workshop with her at Lies' house back in the late 1908s/early 1990s.

I am sorry to say that Anny passed away on Friday, December 22 and is now teaching the angels how to make lace.

This is such a loss. Anny was known for her teaching. While I never had the opportunity to study with her, I know that there are teachers out there who studied with her and pass that knowledge on. She was also a part of the group that produced the Binche Master Class folios. She will be missed

Although we all know the time must come, I feel particularly sad to loose Any. I have admired (and even tried to make) her Binche designs. I never had the opportunity to take a class, but the lacemaking world has certainly lost a brilliant lacemaker and designer.
